Daffodil ICT Carnival 2018
3-day ‘Daffodil ICT Carnival 2018’ begins today on 11 February 2018 at Daffodil International University (DIU) Permanent Campus at Ashulia organized by Daffodil Family. More than ten thousand students, teachers and ICT experts from Computer Science & Engineering Department (CSE), Software Engineering Department (SWE), Multi Media & Creative Technology Department (MCT), Computing & Information System Department (CIS) and Daffodil Education Network are participating in the carnival. Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU inaugurated the 3 day long carnival this morning. Presided over by Mohammed Nuruzzaman, CEO, Daffodil Family and convener of ICT Carnival, the inaugural session was addressed by Professor Dr. Yousuf M Islam, Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. S.M. Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder, Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Syed Akhter Hossain, Head, Department of CSE, Dr. Touhid Bhuiyan, Head, Department of SWE, Dr. Shaikh Muhammad Allayear, Associate Professor and Head, Department of MCT and Md. Sarwar Hossain Mollah, Head, Department of CIS. The Carnival will continue up to 13th February.
Three day carnival includes competitions, Project Showcase, Smart Hakathon, Programming contest, Counseling and mentoring, Fun events, learning opportunity, Networking scope and many more. So that every moment of the fest can be enjoyed and utilized with adding value. The winners, best innovators and performers will be awarded a smart cash incentive which is worth of Tk. 1 million.
Addressing as chief guest Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said, the future world will belongs to information technology. So, it is quite impossible to sustain in that future world without enhancement of ICT knowledge. That’s why the carnival has been organized to encourage students of Daffodil Education Network for inventing new ICT ideas and projects.
Dr. Sabur Khan said to the students that government is giving 10 percent incentive for exporting ICT products.He urged the students to utilize this opportunity developing innovate and internationally viable products & services. He also urged the students to develop the ideas based on the demands of customers requirements, As this is the time of globalization, so you have to design your idea based on consumers demand, he added.
3- day carnival will not only be a promotional event but also it will be a place for learning, sharing and giving recognition to talents where all the industry leaders and policy makers will be invite to join in the carnival. The objective of the festival is to bring all the talents, industry and opportunity on the same platform so that it gets success in true form. The host is planning to organize it in an innovative, effective and broader way to bring the best outcome from it.
