Mrs. Rokia Afzal Rahman was born in 1941. She obtained her graduation from Saint Joseph’s Convent School & College, Karachi. She started her career in Muslim Commercial Bank in 1962 at the time when very few women had earned the Banking Profession. She became the first woman Bank Manager in 1964. Later on she became the Director of MIDAS Financing Ltd, Director of Reliance Insurance and Founder Member of Presidency University.

In 1980 she established her own agro-based Industry R.R. Cold Storage to provide support to small farmers who were struggling for preservation of their agro products. In 1992 she established Mini Mart. In 1994 she formed the Woman Entrepreneur Association (WEA). In 2006 she constituted Bangladesh Federation of Woman Entrepreneurs (BFWE).
Mrs. Rokia Afzal Rahman was a honorable Advisor to the Caretaker Government. She was the Director of Bangladesh Bank Governing Body for 3 years. She obtained various national and international awards for her deeds and achievements.
